There Are Words to Describe Hanging Out with a Pedophile, and Foolish Isn't One of Them

Bill Gates says he was "foolish" for hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein. Allow me to counter by arguing that being "foolish" as a grown-ass man includes things such as:

• not regularly changing the air filter in your home's HVAC system;
• saving less than you should in your 401(k);
• taking Ibuprofen that is past its expiration date;
• riding around on tires that you know are under-inflated;
• eating a sleeve of cookies right before bed.

Being "foolish" as a grown-ass man DOES NOT include running around with a known sex trafficker and child abuser. Running around with a known sex trafficker and child abuser is engaging in conduct that shows such a fundamental lack of judgment and such poor character that you should be investigated for likely crimes and banned from polite society forever.

If we want to dig out of this hole we've dug for ourselves, there needs to be a lot less impunity for rich white dudes acting despicably and a lot more frog-marching of those same dudes.
