They Insult God

They Insult God
Alex Pretti, murdered by Trump's brownshirts on January 24, 2026

Ohio Capital Journal Editor-in-Chief David DeWitt wrote a column published Friday—before federal agents murdered another innocent person in Minneapolis—that is commendable in its clarity about the people gleefully tearing America apart. DeWitt's column was prompted by the Trump administration's attempt to end protected status for Haitian refugees on February 2, and the potentially devastating effects that could have on Springfield, Ohio, home to approximately 10,000 Haitian immigrants, if allowed to proceed.

DeWitt warns that the violence unleashed in Minneapolis could soon be visited upon Springfield. His call for decency and the rejection of those who seem constitutionally incapable of it is even more relevant following the apparent extrajudicial execution of ICU nurse Alex Pretti by Trump's brownshirts.

Meanwhile, all those horrific scenes playing out in Minnesota will come to this small Ohio town.
Open abuse of police powers violating the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Violence, hatred, chaos. A maelstrom of madness, based on the lawless whims and childish fantasies of under-trainedunder-vettedunaccountable goon squads.
This the doing of "public leaders" who are mental, intellectual, and emotional toddlers — broken people breaking the world.
They're too weak and stupid, short-sighted and malicious to have any positive vision for humanity, so they spew forth darkness, resentment, paranoia, division, and hate.
In stark display of their sickness of soul, they delight in the pain and hurt they torment upon others.
They reject the light of truth, compassion, mercy, restraint, benevolence, tolerance, and love. They insult God.
It's well past time for all adults remaining among Ohio's so-called leaders to stand up to these children.
It's time to protect the law — actual, constitutional law. It's time to protect order. It's time to protect Ohio's peace. It's time for a shred of decency.

They insult God. Every day I find myself searching for some better way to accurately describe the degeneracy of Trump and his enablers. They insult God. I don't think I can do better than that.

The stakes are plain for anyone capable of seeing them. But that's the thing.  You've got to be able to see them.

If what you’re seeing about what's unfolding in Minneapolis consists of excuses and rationalizations, then you need to question the sources of your information and the motives of those behind them.

If your reaction to it is anything other than moral outrage, then you need to think about America, the idea of it, what it’s supposed to be and what we are now. Try thinking of our country as you did as a kid, what ideals you knew in your bones we stood for.

If you can't see that resisting this murderous regime is a moral necessity separate and distinct from politics as usual, then your politics are clouding your morality and preventing you from thinking and acting morally.

The only way out now is through, and the only way through is on the side of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
